What these numbers show
Every figure on this page is computed from the conversion records of the service itself: the total number of completed conversions, the volume of the last 30 days, the tools and input formats people use most, and how the monthly volume changes over time. Averages for file size and processing time come from the same records.
The ranking of conversions links to the tool pages, so you can jump straight to the converter that most people use for a given task. To read up on the formats themselves, the File Format Encyclopedia explains what each one stores and when it is the right choice.
How the statistics are computed
A conversion is counted once its job has completed and the result is ready for download; uploads that fail validation or end in an error are left out. The figures are aggregated from job records that hold only the operation, file sizes, timings and status, and they are refreshed once an hour.
