About FileConvertLab Support
FileConvertLab is built by a small team focused on document conversion quality and reliability. We use industry-standard tools including LibreOffice for office document processing, Apache PDFBox for PDF manipulation, and Tesseract OCR for text recognition. Our technology stack prioritizes accuracy over speed—though most conversions complete within seconds.
We monitor system health continuously and investigate conversion failures to improve our algorithms. When you report an issue, you help us identify edge cases and document types that need better handling. Many of our improvements come directly from user feedback about real-world documents that didn't convert as expected.
Frequently Asked Support Questions
Can I convert password-protected PDFs? If you know the password, open the PDF in any viewer, print to a new PDF without protection, then convert. We cannot bypass document security.
Why does my OCR output have errors? OCR accuracy depends on image quality. Scan at 300 DPI minimum, ensure good contrast, and select the correct language. Handwriting and unusual fonts reduce accuracy.
What's the maximum file size? We accept files up to 100MB. For larger documents, consider splitting multi-page PDFs into smaller batches or compressing images before conversion.
How long are files stored? Uploaded files and conversion results are automatically removed after processing. We do not retain copies of your documents beyond the active conversion session.
