How to compare documents
Upload your first document in the left slot and your second document in the right slot. Both PDF and DOCX formats are accepted — you can even compare a PDF against a Word document. The tool reads each file's embedded text layer directly, so what gets compared is the actual text content of the document, not a visual snapshot of the page — layout, images, and page backgrounds aren't part of the comparison.
Once both files are loaded, the comparison starts automatically. Changes are highlighted in red (deletions) and green (additions) directly in the document text.
Use the summary panel at the top to see the overall similarity percentage and counts of additions, deletions, and unchanged words. Scroll through both panels simultaneously to review every change in context. The comparison operates at the word level: a changed sentence shows as a deletion of the old wording next to an insertion of the new, rather than flagging the whole paragraph as different. Formatting-only edits — a different font, bold text, a color change — aren't detected as changes if the underlying words are identical, since the comparison looks at text content rather than styling.
